Big Changes and some updates

Good Evening to you all.

It has been a wonderful, sunny and warm day today in the South of Wales, makes a nice change to the cold.

As my title suggests, there are going to be some big changes coming to my household starting from September.

As I am nearing my 30th birthday, I thought it about time I got my life sorted and going in the direction I wanted it to instead of going day by day, so.....I applied to University and took up driving lessons.

I found out yesterday that my application to attend a 'brick uni' was accepted and I start full time in September WOOP WOOP!! I will be studying Finance and Accounting while the hubby takes care of the kids and studies for his masters.

I'm also currently taking driving lessons, but so far I am only a few weeks into that and so the nerves are still quite high.

In between all this madness, I have managed to do some stitching and I'm getting ever closer to having my long term WIP finished. Here are the update pictures:

Page 9 progress on Moon Goddess HAED.

Progress on Joan Elliott's 12 Days of Christmas.

So far I now have days 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 9 completed. I have made a start on day 12 but there isn't a great deal of progress to show.

I hope you all have a wonderful evening and manage lots of craftiness.

Until next time

PAGE FINISH!!!

Good morning to you all. I hope you are having a great day so far. As my post says I do have a page finish.

I've had a very productive few days on moon goddess and as a result page 8 of 36 is complete.

Here are the pics:

I'm not quite sure as to what I feel like working on now so I'm going to peek into my wip box lol.

Until next time

Happy new year and an update

Good evening to you all.

I am so sorry I haven't posted in such a long time. Since my course finished I found myself rather unsettled and all over the shop.

I now find myself more settled and enjoyed a very quiet Christmas with hubby and kiddies.

I am posting an update now on moon goddess who I haven't been able to put down and as such I finished page 7 and made a great start on page 8.  Here is how she currently looks after 3 years work. Hopefully 2015 will prove to be a more productive year on the stitching front.

I also want to wish everyone a fantastic new year and I hope 2015 brings you nothing but joy and happiness.

Until next time

Stitching Progress

Good Evening to you all.

As my previous post mentioned, I have been doing some stitching over the last few months and now comes the pictures of my progress.

I won't be stitching for a little while now while I make an attempt at revision for the upcoming exam in September...oh boy am I dreading it haha.

Anyways here is all my progress:

Heather's RR piece
Pages 1-6 completed on Moon Goddess HAED
The start of a moomin chart (my old favourite cartoon LOL)
Joan Elliott fantasy dragon...SAL
Joan Elliott Mystery Faces SAL
I don't think I've done too bad in between submitting assignments :) Here's to hoping now that my brain can absorb and remember information so I can pass this exam and get back to my stitching.

Until next time

A Few Updates :)

Good Morning to all from a rather chilly South Wales.

I seem to have stopped blogging for a few days but I'm back and I do have a few updates on my WIP's.

Since I finished Santa and The Mouse, I went back to Moon Goddess and a few other pieces. Here are the updates:

Moon Goodess. Pages 1,2,3,4 and 6 complete, page 5 in progress.

A close up of page 5 (in progress) and page 6:

Swirling Peacock:

In between these projects, I decided to start something small, but for some reason my stitching bug has started to wane a bit.  Here is my little in between project:

This is from WOCS. I've substituted the white for kreinik 032

I am now off to snuggle on the sofa today with my poorly little girl and do more on page 5. I want to get most of page 5 done by Christmas if not completed.

I do hope you all keep warm in this chilly weather :)

Have a great day all.

Until next time

A RR Finish :)

Good Morning to all.

I was meant to update my blog yesterday, but until late last night, I complete forgot about it.

Last week my rotation plans went right out the window as I started to stitch extra's onto a robin while the one lady is out of the country. Here is another mouse I finished:

He is an adorable little fellow but oh my that back stitch was a right pain in the you know what to do. My hands were extremely sore afterwards.

Over the weekend I managed to work on Moon Goddess, but last night I gave the entire project a wash. I'm now about to unroll her from the towel to iron her so I will take a picture of her then and edit this post with my progress. While she is drying, I am going to be working on Winter Fairy.

I have myself a lamp and oh boy what a difference it makes in stitching. It is a normal halogen light but I can make it bright or dim it down. It's made a heck of a difference in stitching, so much so that without my lamp now, I'm as slow as a snail stitching :)

I will update later with pictures from Moon Goddess  :)

EDIT: Here is Moon Goddess:

As you can see page 4 is almost complete and page 7 has been started on the left. I still have to stitch 1 full page and 1 partial until the top row is complete.

Until next time

Weekend Stitching Progress

Good Morning to you all!!

It has been rather chilly in the mornings these last few days, and dare I say that I can feel the winter creeping in.

I have a few updates for you now on the stitching front from over the weekend.

On Friday night, I popped into Asda and purchased a copy of The World of Cross Stitching and I'm blogger of the month :)

Here is the piece in the magazine:

I have to say that I am over the moon, but also curious. How do they choose a blogger of the month is?

I also received on Friday the new bookazine "The Ultimate Forest Friends Cross Stitch Collection". I just love these bookazines.

On Sunday morning, I picked up my TUSAL jar and the thing just smashed in my hand. So I had to hunt around for a new one. I decided on a large candle jar that had not long run out and the remaining wax wouldn't light, so had hubby clean it out. Here it is looking ship shape and shiny with its new contents:

This is a Yankee Candle and I have to say they smell absolutely delicious. The big ones (like this) cost around £13 each but burn for weeks.

Now I'm going to show you my actual stitching progress.  On Friday, I didn't really manage all that much stitching on Day 6, so here is how '6 Geese-A-Laying' is looking:

All that is left to do really is the eggs, some more blue for the sky and the backstitch. I'm definitely hoping to have this completed today.

For my weekend project, Moon Goddess came out to play. She has been yelling at me for a while but I kept ignoring until Saturday. I didn't get to stitch throughout the daytime as it was my little boy's 6th birthday, so spent the day with him :)

I managed to put in a total of 755 stitches :)

A close up of page 4:

Well those are all my updates for the weekend. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and kept warm wherever you all are :)

Until next time

A Page Finish......Woop

Yes, you read correctly.  I finally have another page finish on Moon Goddess.  I now have 3 completed pages out of the 36 there are.

You would not believe how many different blues there actually are in this design.  I was forever having to change thread colour throughout and then there were the odd little stitches that were 'over there' on their own. Confetti heaven, but it sure does bring the design to life :)

I wonder how long it will take for me to completely finish this HAED? LOL

Anyways, here is how she currently looks.

May's TUSAL and a HAED update

Well, hello everyone!!!

I can't believe it has been a month since my last post, but I have been busy doing something.

I have started to read my old OU books in preparation for my next course starting in February.  Yes I know, February is a long way off yet, but I need to go through and get a better understanding of things I didn't "get" last time around.

I have also been stitching too.  I had to put 12 Days away as I started feeling like it was becoming a chore, so decided to go back to Moon Goddess.

Pictures are below (1st pic - where I left Moon Goddess, 2nd pic - Moon Goddess as of today, 3rd pic - TUSAL).

Well, I'm going to make another start on her now, so if I want to get most of this page done, I had better get a move on :)

A rather large update for you all

Well, as it has been a little while since I last posted, this post is going to be a rather largish one.

I have to say I haven't managed a great deal of stitching since my last update due to me trying to get everything organised ready for the arrival of the baby who is going to arrive within the next 10 days....eeek.  I have to say though that I cannot wait until she is here even if it is so I can get comfy.

Now for my stitching updates.  I've decided to rotate the projects that I have on the go, otherwise I've found I'm getting myself in a right mess with projects all over the place.

First up is my Moon Goddess HAED.  I'm so close to finishing page 2 of 36 pages, and as you will see in the bottom right hand corner, I've made a start on her hair so it won't be long until her head starts to take shape.

Here she is before I started working on her:

28th April 2012

and here is how she is now:

19th August 2012

Another project I've been working on is the Charlie Bear Alphabet Sampler.  Due to my course starting back in February and lots of other things in between, myself and Heather put Charlie away.

This is how Charlie looked before:

19th March 2012

and here is how he is now:

19th August 2012

For this week, I'm going to be working on my 12 days of Christmas by Joan Elliott.  I was hoping to have it finished in time for this Christmas, but with the new baby due any time now I very much doubt that will happen.  Just to remind you all, this is how it looks as of right now before I start on it again this afternoon.

19th August 2012

And last but not least, my August TUSAL report.  There is very little in the jar this month, but I'm hoping that once I start stitching the above project, it will soon fill up.

TUSAL 17th August 2012

That is all I have for updates for now, but I'm hoping to have a new update for you all shortly.

Until next time

xXx

Stitching Update

Well, it has definitely been a little while since my last stitching update, partly due to me losing my stitching bug.  It ran away and has taken a little while to return, but I'm pleased to say that I am getting there slowly :)

I managed to complete my very first page of my haed Moon Goddess and here is how she is looking so far

This is 44 hours and 30 minutes stitching :) It took me 39 hours and 50 minutes to complete page 1
I'm hoping to have an update on Autumn Fairy soon, but I haven't really picked her up to do much on her.  I'm currently working on the backstitch around the leaves at the moment, but I'm hoping that once I've completely stitched the wings, I will be able to full complete her.

Stitching updates (wow it has been a little while)

Well hello everyone!!!! How are your stitching days going?  It has been a little while since I last updated due to me working my little butt off on getting an assignment for my new course done and sent :) I have managed to do some stitching in between completing my assignments, and here are my updates.

First of all is my Autumn Fairy.  I'm getting so close to finishing her it is crazy :) Only a few more leaves and another ribbon to finish on the bottom right hand side and then the wings, after which comes the backstitch and beading.  Here is how she is looking as of today:

Another update I have is that of my new HAED start.  I started Moon Goddess on 12th January and I'm close to finishing the first page already :)

Here she is after spending 30 hours and 50 minutes of stitching on her.

Today I plan on spending a little time doing some of my next assignment and then I plan on stitching :)

I hope that wherever you are, you keep safe and have some crafty fun :) xXx

A New HAED

As you know I've been pondering about starting a new HAED since I started Tickle My Tummy.  Well, just after christmas I ordered the threads and material for my new HAED: Moon Goddess by Marta Dahlig.

This is the design:

I'm stitching this design 2 over 1 half stitch as I learned from doing my last HAED, that I didn't like the coverage 1 over 1 gave.  Here is my progress after spending just 2 days stitching on it
