Busy Week and an Update

Good Afternoon everyone!!

This week has been a busy one as my youngest daughter celebrated her first birthday. Lots of running about for cake, decorations, presents, etc, which means that not much stitching has been done.

We celebrated her birthday yesterday (28th) and I'm happy to say she had a brilliant time and knew the day was all about her.

Some pictures from her day:

Now, this duck (bottom picture) has a lot of history. It was handmade by my Father In Law around 28 years ago. The pattern he used, was drawn by him, cut out, shaped, and painted all by him.  He made it for his son to play with (my now husband) and on his first birthday, he had a photo taken in it. It has now become tradition that when one of our children reach their first birthday, they have a picture taken in it.

A close up of the duck - doing good considering it is around 28 years old

Birthday Girl - absolutely fascinated with washing machines haha
Now onto the stitching update.

I have managed to add another word to the Star Trek sampler I'm doing for hubby and I have added part of the ship too.

Here is how it is currently looking:

Can anyone tell me why my pictures will not turn the right way?
For some reason, I can't seem to get the pictures to upload onto blogger the right way around. I've turned them in the folder, but this is how they upload.

If you can show me how to arrange them the correct way, could you please inform me as it drives me nuts to see wonky photos LOL.

Until next time (when I will hopefully have more progress).

Finally!! A Finish...

Good Morning everyone. It is currently 1.30am and I have a finish to show you.

I have finished stitching Mr Snowman Ornament from Joan Elliott's book "Wit and Wisdom", which was started on 13th August 2013.

He is stitched on 14ct Plastic Canvas using DMC and Kreinik threads, with the addition of Mill Hill beads.

Progress after the first week
Progress as of 25-08-2013
The finished article as of 1.30am 26-08-2013
I am delighted with him, although my hands are now rather sore after working with the canvas. All I have left to do now is put a hanger on him and back him and he is ready to pop on my tree this Christmas :)

One WIP down, a good few more to go.

The next project I will be working on will be 'Enterprise Sweet Enterprise', as I promised dear Hubby that I would have it stitched up in no time.

I will spend a day or so working on it and then show an update on that.

Hope we are all well and happily crafting away.

Help!! So many WIP's!!

Right, I have so many projects on the go and as yet I'm to have a big finish on any of them.

I'm thinking of doing a rotation of sorts and would like some advice from those who work with rotation.

How do you organise your rotation and does it help you finish projects?

Would love to read your comments and thoughts on this.

Well, it is extremely late, but it went walkabouts when I moved. Here are my orts for August.

Hopefully I will be on time with the next one xx

2 ornaments in the making

Well hello everyone. I am still yet to find my TUSAL jar and photograph it for you but that will be done tonight.

For now I have a couple of updates.

My HAED ornament and a newly started ornament.

First up is my HAED ornament. Here is how it is looking after the last update.

I have also started a new little ornament from Joan Elliott's Wit and Wisdom book. It is a little snowman that I'm stitching on plastic canvas.

This is the first time I've stitched on plastic canvas so it is a bit slow going and rough on the hands/fingers.

Here is Mr Snowman.

I'm now going back to my HAED as my fingers are sore.

If you have any tips in making plastic canvas easier to use, please do share, I'd very much appreciate it.

Hope you are all well.

My Disappearance Explained....

Good Evening everyone!!

I have some explanations as to why I have been inactive for a little while. I am moving house.

I got my internet back yesterday (7th Aug) and as yet we are still unpacking and putting everything in its place, which includes my TUSAL jar and my stitching.

I promise to have updates for you once everything is in place and we can finally settle and do what we like.

I have missed my stitching like crazy and am so eager to get back to it.

Hope you are all well.

Until next time.
